One region of the North American division of a multinational food products company was seeking a solution for how to reduce its environmental footprint. A major challenge in achieving this objective was the sheer volume of materials flowing through the company’s facilities. As such, a coordinated approach at scale was needed.
The company brought in IMPACT Recycling Partners to crack the code on this challenge. We assessed all the commodities in the facilities, such as cardboard boxes and plastics, and determined which waste streams could be repurposed, reused, or recycled. We then determined the monetary value of these materials and created programs to collect multiple waste streams to prevent them from going to the landfill.
